Men asking women out is a very specific scenario in which they are directly seeking a response, putting the woman in a position to have to calculate on the spot the risks involved in each possible reply she could give. It involves actual interaction, decisions that must be made, potential dangers that must be evaluated, reading body language, expectations, and close physical proximity. Nice try tho!!!!!

My point (and problem) was that the original post attributes the possibility that person X might murder you to the fact that he is a man. Being a man is a condition that you cannot change (before anyone tries to bring up some bs, trans men are men at all times, that includes before transition), like being black.

The problem here is you’re attributing the possibility that he might murder you to a condition that he was born with and cannot change. Tell me that isn’t the “logic” racists use.

Jesus, please stop. Black people are not inherently more likely to commit crimes than any other people. However the VAST majority of rapists are men and the vast majority of assaults are committed by men. A black person chatting to me about the weather is in no way a risk. Men asking women out or hitting on them are conditioned to expect certain responses. They have an agenda. They are pursuing the woman for a specific purpose (typically sex). If the woman isn’t interested, she’s put in a position to either lie and appease his ego or tell the truth and risk getting fucking stabbed or shot. No, he can’t help being a man, but he can sure control whether or not he imposes himself and his desires on a woman who is just trying to enjoy a fucking mojito with her friends. Your willful obtuseness about the social dynamics at play is very annoying, btw.

Men have inherent power over women by virtue of their gender.

Black people do not have inherent power over anyone by virtue of their race. In fact, it is completely the opposite way around, as antiBlackness is the fulcrum on which all racism hinges.

Equating women being cautious around men to white people being cautious around Black people is some fucking reverse-racism/reverse-sexism bullshit. The two do not–and can never–equate.
